Male’, MALDIVES – Football Association of Maldives (FAM) has decided to give monthly salary for the national team players starting from March this year until the AFC Challenge Cup to be held during march next year.

Director of national teams, Ali Suzain said to maldivesoccer.com that the players will be divided into three categories based on their performance and they are; A,B, C and D.

“We have divided the players into three categories and we will be monitoring the players. We have formed a committee to monitor the players and Vice President of FAM Abdul Muhsin Hameed and Head Coach Istvan Urbanyi will monitor the players along with me.”

Category A players will be paid MVR 6,500, B category players will get MVR 5,000 and the C category players will get MVR 3,000. Category D players will not receive the salary.

Suzain also said that the D category players will not receive any salary until they promote to C, B.

“Category D players will not receive the salary but if they promote to C or B they will be paid. We will monitor them and based on the performance in the league and their attendance we will give them points.”
