The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is mulling organising eight practice matches for the national football team ahead of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship in Nepal in September.
Of the eight practice matches, the national team will play four matches on home soil and the other four will be away matches, informed Kazi Nabil Ahmed, BFF vice president and national teams committee chairman at the Bangladesh Olympic Association yesterday.

“We have already played away matches against Malaysia and Thailand and we want them in Dhaka to play two matches each against Bangladesh,” said Nabil. “We are also talking to a few associations of the Middle East for another four matches. But it is sure we are not playing against teams which are ranked below Bangladesh.”
Bangladesh, under the supervision of Dutch coach Lodewijk De Kruif, are scheduled to play two FIFA friendly matches against India and Pakistan in England in early June and then the team will start preparation for the SAFF Championship from July before playing practice matches in August.
Nabil also informed that he would sit with the AFC legal committee to ask for an explanation of Bangladesh’s exit from the AFC Challenge Cup when he, along with BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, would visit Kuala Lumpur to attend the AFC Congress to be held on May 2.
