Male’, MALDIVES – New Radiant Sports Club has increased the gap between Maziya Sports and Recreation Club today after beating them by 4-2 in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi League.
In the 7th minute New Radiant’s Mansa Sylla made a good shot inside the box but Ibrahim Shiyam cleared it before crossing the goal line.
Maziya created their first chance in the 13th minute, when Ismail Easa controlled a superb pass from Ahmed Rasheed from his chest and made the shot but went over the bar.
Two minutes later, New Radiant’s Hussain Niyaz broke the deadlock when he escaped from the off side trap and hits the net.
In the 25th minute Hassan Adhuham missed one of the best chances they got in the match, when Asadhulla gave a good ball to unmarked Adhuham inside the box but his shot went inches away from the post.
A minute later Mohamed Umair of New Radiant scored and doubled the lead. Ashfaq gave a good ball to Umair and Keeper Mohamed Imran tried to save it but Umair chipped it over the keeper and scored.
In the 39th minute Hassan Adhuham made a good shot on target but the outstanding keeper of New Radiant, Imran Mohamed saved it.
In the 63rd minute referee gave the marching orders for Maziya’s Ahmed Firaz Moosa and they played the remaining time with 10 men.
Two minutes later Assadhulla Abdulla scored from the spot when referee awarded them a penalty for a foul committed by Ahmed Niyaz to Ahmed Rasheed inside box.
In the 71st minute referee awarded second penalty of the match this time to New Radiant when keeper Mohamed Imran fouled on Ali Ashfaq. Ashfaq scored from the spot and increased the margin.
Two minutes later Mohamed Umair scored their fourth and his second of the day from a decent cross from the right flank by Hussain Niyaz.
Ten minutes before the normal time Asadhulla scored his second of the day from the spot when referee awarded a second penalty to Maziya for a foul committed by Rilwan.
With this win New Radiant has won the 6 games they have played so far in the league and managed to get 18 points while Maziya got 12 points from 6 matches.
