Male', MALDIVES - Prior to facing Maziya Sports and Recreation in the ongoing Dhiraagu Dhivehi League, New Radiant Sports Club Manager Shaz Habeeb says their main focus is now on the AFC Cup as they are in the second round of the tournament. League leaders Blues will face second placed, Maziya Sports and Recreation Club tomorrow afternoon at 1550hrs.

Speaking at the pre-match press briefing, held at FAM House today, Shaz said that as they are in the second round of the AFC Cup, their top priority at the moment is for the AFC Cup.

“As we are in the second round of AFC Cup, our team, and management is more focused on the Selangor match (which is scheduled for 15th of May)”.

“So coach has also decided to give chance for more young players in the local game (against Maziya)”.
Shaz also noted that the substitute players are also up to the level of the first team. And he also noted that every player will give their maximum to win the game against Maziya.

“Our young players will also work hard, they will fight for a win”.

If New Radiant manages a win against Maziya tomorrow, they will be six points clear at the top of the table.

Shaz also noted their key attacking pairs are also suffering from injuries.

“Ashfag and Umair are injured. Coach will decide about their inclusion after the final trainings”.

On the other hand, Maziya coach Ismail Mahefooz (Imma) said that his side is fully fit for the match against New Radiant.

“ We are fully prepared, and I hope for a good performance from our side”.

Maziya and New Radiant has faced once in the current season and New Radiant won the game by 3-1 (Milo Charity Shield)
